The Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking a dynamic Office Building Manager III to join our Facilities Management Division (FMD)in San Francisco, CA.
Under general direction of the Office Building Manager IV, the Office Building Manager III serves as the Building Manager over the Ronald M. George State Office Complex (RMG), in the Facilities Management Division (FMD) and is responsible for directing and supervising a large staff engaged in the overall custodial operations and maintenance services for a 1,100,000 sq/ft building in a metropolitan area of State-owned and occupied buildings and grounds in accordance with FMD policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of RMG, include management of customer service and the operational budget, and will plan and assign work of subordinate staff, and develop on overall master maintenance schedule.
As the Office Building Manager III, you will be responsible for:
Manages and oversees the day-to-day operation of the assigned building(s) and staff by developing overall master maintenance schedules
Reviewing and approving final budget estimates for repair, maintenance, and custodial operations, monitoring expenses, financial reports, and projecting cost variances
Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff by monitoring and establishing performance expectations and requirements, providing training, hiring and maintaining adequate staff
Maintaining excellent customer service while balancing competing priorities
Project management of contracted services such as building alternations and improvements
Administering health and safety programs

To be successful in the role, you must meet the qualifications below:
Four years of experience within the last fifteen years in the maintenance and operation of a heating, ventilating, and air- conditioning system and related equipment in a large commercial, industrial, or governmental building or institution including one year of experience in supervising such a system.
