The Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking a dynamic Office Building Manager III to join our Facilities Management Division (FMD) in San Francisco, CA.
This role is responsible for directing and supervising a large staff engaged in the overall custodial operations and maintenance services for a 383,505 sq/ft building in a major metropolitan area of State-owned and occupied buildings and grounds in accordance with Facilities Management Division (FMD) policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of California Public Utilities Commission Building, including management of customer service and the operational budget, and will plan and assign work of subordinate staff, and develop an overall master maintenance schedule.
As the Office Building Manager III, you will be responsible for:
Managing and overseeing the day-day operations of the assigned building(s) and staff
Reviewing and approving final budget estimates for repair, maintenance, and custodial operations, monitoring expenses, financial reports, and projecting cost variances
Providing supervision and professional development support of staff and hiring and maintaining adequate staff
Maintaining excellent customer service while balancing competing priorities
Project management of contracted services such as building alternations and improvements
Maintaining good tenant relations including timely follow up with tenants
Administering health and safety programs

To be successful in the role, you must meet the qualifications below:
Four years of progressively responsible building management experience, one year of which shall have involved the supervision of a large office, institutional building, or group of buildings of at least 300,000 square feet, involving public contacts and responsibility for a large maintenance and custodial staff.
